Last season the Keansburg Titans walked away with a wining season of 5-4. The Titans took down Bayshore rival Keyport twice and also came above big team schools like Monmouth Regional and Manchester. In 2016-2017 Keansburg ended their season 2-8, this year they are going into their third game undefeated.
Due to COVID-19 the football season schedule was changed to accommodate a shortened season, this plays a large role on how the teams were given time to advance in the division. Normally, a team will work past each game learning, adapting, and, hopefully achieving more and more victories as the season continues. Keansburg has worked past that normal routine and has been earning big wins that are setting them above everyone in their division.
The first game of the season was against Point Pleasant Beach, a team historically known for taking home a win against the titans. This year, Keansburg showed no mercy in their offensive onslaught winning the game 40-21. Mikail Braithwaite, Patrick Beltran, and Brendan Flanzbaum were key players of the game who helped bring the Titans to a win.
On Saturday, Keansburg was host to Roselle’s Abraham Clark who was off the following week. The Titans were also playing host for the Keansburg Senior Day.
Keansburg’s Flanzbaum, Braithwaite, and Beltran were back at the front of the line for the Titans. These players excelled on the field specifically on offense. The score was 12-0 by the end of the first half.
Davon Jackson and Connor Graff were also instrumental in bringing the Titans to a final score of 37-0. A complete shutout.
The Titans have a solid team this year and under their coaching leadership these player will be advancing throughout the rest of season. Keansburg is set to play Asbury Park who is currently 1-1 but the Bishops are known for having a balanced set this year which will add for an interesting game.
