In the world of sports, there is one organization that acts as advocate women’s rights and empowers women to strive for new heights, its called the Women’s Sports Foundation.
Founded by the legendary women’s rights leader and tennis icon Billie Jean King who has dedicated her life to helping women across the globe make their mark in the world. Every year the foundation hosts an annual gala to celebrate the talented women in sports and their impact on the local communities.
Today they have opened up the nominations for this year’s upcoming gala. We took a look at these incredible women and the awards they were nominated for.
Sports Women Of The Year Award
This award is among the highest honors in sports and goes to a team or individual who showcased exceptional skills throughout a 12-month time. passed winners include Oksana Masters, Katie Ledecky, Claressa Shields, Serena Willams. The public and the Women’s Sports Foundation’s Awards Committee select the award winners by a 50-50 vote. The winners will be those two athletes who receive the highest combined share of a public vote (50% of composite) and the Awards Committee vote (50% of the composite).
