A New Jersey Summer is time for family fun, celebration, and of course the beach. With so many great beaches to choose from in the garden state, it becomes hard to decide where to spend that last moment of summer before everyone starts putting out pumpkins and fall décor. Well, this beach town, known for having one of the largest FREE beach areas, rich history, and an exciting amusement park is hosting an event that will make your decision an easy choice.
This Saturday, Sept 4th, the Borough of Keansburg will be celebrating the end of the fun-filled summer with their 5th annual “Floatopia” Event. What is Floatopia? Located at the Keansburg Baywalk on Beachway Ave, this Labor Day weekend celebration combines the best of NJ’s fun beach day traditions such as Music, Food, Games, and a wild range of cool and creative water inflatables. The Keansburg beach will be filled with big floats, little floats, food floats, animal floats, floats you’ve never seen before! From travelers to locals, everyone is welcome to enjoy the beautiful anticipated weather and coast down the bay in the float of their choice. The event will last the entire day!
A DJ will be starting off the fun and then they will be handing the mic off to the legendary band Asbury Fever from 6-8 pm. Asbury Fever is one of the best music groups that come to Keansburg during their summer concert series, their talent always gets the crowd moving and grooving. Last, what beach day would be complete without great food? Well, Keansburg has arranged a variety of food trucks to be available on-site. In addition, Half Moon the newest restaurant to call Keansburg Home, conveniently located across from the Baywalk, will be offering special events and food options throughout the day cooked and prepared by their top chef “Chopped Champion” Emily Chapman.
Keansburg’s Director of Recreation, Michelle Hoff, welcomes all to the event! She also mentioned that Floatopia will be offering socially distant conditions so everyone can feel safe and comfortable while enjoying the event. With only a few days left, start inflating your floats, and be sure to get to the beach early to enjoy all that Keansburg has to offer!
